Back to School Smiling

Tough economical times don’t make it any easier for poor Thai families, struggling to equip their children with all they need to go back to school. Operation Blessing’s Back to School project helps to alleviate the financial burden that these families face at the start of each new school year.

Since it’s commencement in Thailand in 2001, the Back to School project has provided school bags, uniforms, shoes, school books and stationery supplies to 2,953 underprivileged Thai children.

In April and May 2009, OB travelled to Chiangmai, Chiangrai and Tak Provinces, to provide the “back to school” needs of 745 needy children.

Twelve year old Terdpong, from Mae Song Chiang Gao Village, was one of this year’s excited Back to School recipients. He said, “It is the first time I have ever received a full new school uniform, along with all these other school supplies. I am so happy.”
