Operation Blessing provided free medical clinics in Phang Nga, Southern Thailand from the 19th- 22nd March 2007. Three of the clinics were held in Muslim fishing villages located on small islands, two accessible only by boat. All the clinics took place in communities removed from basic health care facilities.
A team of 27 people, including doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and support staff, administered medical and dental care to 807 patients. A Kid’s Fun Club provided a lot of excitement for 180 children who participated in games, songs, craft and English activities.
Many of the patients who attended the clinics expressed their deepest gratitude. Mrs. Banya Wan from Nok Island Village had a severe toothache for many months and was unable to travel the long distance necessary to get treatment. She said, “I am so happy. Today I have seen the dentist for my toothache and have had a medical checkup from the doctor too. Thank you Operation Blessing for coming all the way to our village and helping us.”
